This is amazing Firewall software, but needs the other titles in the McAfee series, ie Virus Scan. The actual software is amazing, easy to use and gives you complete control, but if you ask me, you should buy a package of Mcafee Virus Scan and Mcafee Firewall PLus - amazing value, amazing software.;

This program was easy to install and worked great untill the good people at McAfee automatically updated it! These updates come between once every month to once every three months ... and I've never had one yet that didn't mess up the program in some way! After encoraging many unistalls and reinstalls, technical support will normally state (confess?) that they "are aware of a fault with the program", that their enginners are working on it and that it will be fixed by the next update (which in my experiance causes yet more problems!). The great shame is that that the progam itself is very effective, very easy to use and easy to cusomise. However, untill they get their act together with their updates and technical support, I would recommend people look elsewhere.;

I invested in McAfee Virus Scan and Firewall because I had a new laptop and would be using it as a business consultant, so wanted to minimise any risk of my files being corrupted or deleted. The virus checker seems OK and updates itself from the web, so no problems there. However, I reckoned without the attention of the Firewall checking everything coming in and going out (I know, I know . . . it's what it's paid for . . . ) so if I send out a batch of Emails with the same content it stops them and requires me to authorise each one individually in case it's a "worm". I had previously invested in Qurb, the anti-spam tool, which is superb, but Qurb sends out confirmation Emails to everything it receives that is not in its authorised senders list and the same thing happens - a real pain. I wish there was some way of telling McAfee that I'm about to send out 30 Emails and they're all OK. Apart from that I think it's OK. It was easy to install and it seems to be working - it's just the little "glitches" that I hate.;
