Quite simply one of the best framing models available, Bostitch's high-powered stick nailer is basically the sleek sports car of framing stick nailers. Yet, with its magnesium housing, extruded aluminum magazine, and antislide rubber exterior molding, it's also a very tough piece of equipment, designed to hold up to the inevitable falls and bangs and bumps that tools take on a job site. The nailer's aggressive teeth easily grip lumber for toe-nailing. You just push a button for depth control. There's also a 360-degree exhaust deflector, so you can point the discharge away from the face. Overall, we were impressed with how comfortable the unit was to hold. It definitely has the burliness of an industrial tool; it's also very well balanced and, at 7.8 pounds, relatively light. The nailer packs plenty of power (1,000 inch-pounds) and drives 3-1/2-inch nails into the toughest lumber without breaking a sweat. We have used this gun for several years building storage sheds.So far we have never had to take one in for repair as far as I can remember despite falling off roofs and being used as a sledge hammer.(I still try to discourage using them for a sledge hammer)Quite a statement since we have several guys using them every day constantly.The only issue would be if you try to use a 16 penny nail or bigger the nails sometimes hang up in the magazine. I would definatly recomend this one.;

This is the first time I bought a framing nailer so I have nothing to compare it to. I have been looking for any gun rated 5 stars by people who use these types of guns day in and day out, this wasn't 5 stars, but first impression, it should have been. I used it to put together several shelves, let me tell ya, like butta! This gun push clipped head nails through 2x4's like nothing. I finished the project in half the time it would have taken me to hand nail. My next project is a pool deck, the main reason for my purchase, I'll be back to let you know how it went. For the professional, I'm not sure how you would get this big honker around corners during a construction project??? Overall and out of the box A+++++++++++++;

I recently purchased the N88WW to replace my old 20 year old bostitch framing gun and was very disapointed with the way it operates I could not sink 16d nails into the LVL's that we were using and had the pressure on the compressor at 110 lbs. I tried toe nailing some studs with 8d nails and had the same problem. I then took out my old nailer and had no problems with it sinking the nails into the LVL's and other lumber. I think they miss labeled this gun high power.I returned the gun and decided to tune up the old one and continue to use it. Eventuly I will buy a framing gun but not a new bostitch.;
